Type of the programm: |
The programm for
|
Determination of the programm: |
2nd and 4th Class of High Schools, universities
with natural science subject (chemistry, physic), 8th Class of
Basic Schools
|
Aims of the programm: |
The programm explains logically processes running on electrodes
after metal immersion into their ion solutions.
|
Basic knowledge available in the
programm: |
|
oxidation, reduction, electric double
layer, electrode potential, electrochemical order of metal
voltage (tension) and properties of metals, composition of galvanic
cells and chemical processes running in it, cathode, anode, significance
of galvanic cells in practise |
|
Used form of the programm: |
|
Content of the programm: |
Basic knowledge is available in the programm:
- ELECTRODE POTENTIAL
- Oxidation process - oxidation process and electric double
layer formation is explained with the help of dynamic simulation of
ionic motion between metal and solution, where metal is immersed.
- Reduction process - explained the same way as oxidation
process. It compares antagonistic character of oxidation and
reduction.
- Electrode potential - essense of chemical processes running
between metal and solution, where metal is immersed is described by
dynamic model of ionic motion.
- Standard electrode potential - explains standard
conditions, standard electrode potential, describes standard
hydrogen electrode.
- Potential of other electrodes (potential of zinc electrode,
copper electrode potential) - explains chemical process in
both parts running on metal electrodes immersed into their ion
solution by ionic motion simulation at metal - solution interface.
- BEKETOV SERIES - describes properties
of metals and size of their electrode potentials. From metal standing
in the series there are noble and non - noble metals.
- GALVANIC CELLS
- Galvanic Cell creation -
the composition is described by
individual parts of galvanic cell.
- Essence of galvanic cell - exchange of chemical energy to
electrical is explained by chemical process simulation that run on
electrodes and are described by electrochemical order of metal
voltage. Oxidation, reduction, anode, cathode.
|
3 .Daniell cell - a kind of galvanic cell containing copper
and zinc electrode that are immerced into their salt solution
separated by diaphragm. Voltage size is displayed by standing of Zn
and Cu in Beketov series. Chemical reaction describes chemical
processes running on electrodes. |
4. Using galvanic cells - there are many ways of
using galvanic cells as direct current source in practise. There are
pictures of Lanclanch cell and lead - acid battery and their
characterization. It shows the differece between batteries and
galvanic cells.
|
Evaluation of the programm: |
The programm is evaluated by EpaSoft system. The programm is
suitable as study material about galvanic cells and it is suitable
for repeating part of lessons.
|
Remarks: |
This educational programm was translated into English. It can be used
in classes with English language teaching and there is also the idea of
between - subject relationsheeps accepted.
